On Wednesday, Madden released the speed ratings of the top running backs in its 2022 version and Nwangwu was named the second-fastest back in the game. The current Minnesota Vikings running back has an average speed of 94. He is tied with Matt Breida for the second-best rating. San Fransisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert is the quickest player in the league with the speed rating of 97.

Nwangwu was the first Cyclone to be selected in the NFL Draft in over a time this past May. Nwangwu saw his name mentioned and was chosen with the 119th pick (fourth round) by the Minnesota Vikings.
